29 May 2023, Monday
On 29 May 2023, the second transnational meeting commenced in Monterotondo, focusing on the progress of the Digital Learning Platform (DLP) and key project activities. The meeting agenda was introduced, and partners thoroughly examined the DLP. It was agreed that all delayed sections would be completed promptly. To enhance the platform, each video will include a 1-minute introductory clip featuring the project team, and relevant additional materials, such as bibliographies and documents, will be uploaded. Adjustments will be made to ensure the “complete” button activates only after videos are fully watched, with playback paused if a new browser tab is opened. EGE committed to translating the Turkish sections of the platform into English.
Discussions on the pilot study determined that initial participants would include a teacher outside the project team, with project members joining in a later phase. It was proposed that each video end with a short quiz of 3-4 questions. Content creation plans included preparing 200-250 word abstracts for each video and reviewing translations and subtitles. To improve project visibility, a poster will be created for school corners, and ISCTE will draft dissemination news for WP2 by 1 July 2023, with translations by partners for publication in September. This collaborative effort set a clear roadmap for advancing the project’s goals.
30 May 2023, Tuesday
On 30 May 2023, discussions focused on selecting pilot teachers and advancing teacher training and lesson plan development as part of the ongoing project. Each partner was tasked with selecting pilot teachers from diverse fields, where possible, and reporting their choices to EGE by 5 June 2023. EGE will revise the video content evaluation form to include technical quality aspects such as sound. Pilot teachers will complete four evaluation forms—pre-class, in-class, post-class, and DLP evaluation—and the data will be analyzed to refine the platform by 15 July 2023.
In terms of teacher training, four teachers will receive individual training through the DLP by 30 September 2023. Teachers will also develop 1-2 lesson plans for workshops, subject to peer review, and create six lesson plans monthly under WP3. These plans will include short videos demonstrating classroom applications of social media.
Looking ahead, the next transnational meeting is scheduled to take place in Kosovo from 13-17 November 2023, providing an opportunity to evaluate progress and plan future activities.
31 May 2023, Wednesday
On 31 May 2023, the final day of the meeting, discussions centered on survey methodologies, budgeting, and reporting requirements for the project. Plans for a quantitative survey were outlined, which will collect expert opinions and involve at least 50 students per country. The survey will be translated into the respective languages of all partners and is set for completion by April 2024. A qualitative survey will also be conducted, engaging 30 participants, including teachers, students, and parents. The data from this survey will be analyzed using content analysis and constant comparative methods to gain deeper insights into the project’s impact.
Budget and reporting responsibilities were also reviewed. Partners were reminded to complete and update the Gantt Chart with results for each activity immediately upon completion, with a minimum of 4,000 characters per entry. The final project report is expected to be ready by the end of October 2023, marking a critical milestone for the project. These efforts aim to ensure comprehensive documentation and evaluation of the project’s progress.
