Kick-Off Meeting in Athens
The FLIPP Project officially launched with a Kick-Off Meeting in Nikea, Athens, from January 24 to 26, 2023, bringing together project partners from various institutions. Over the three-day meeting, participants outlined their roles and responsibilities, setting a clear framework for the project’s implementation. The Gantt Chart was introduced to guide task distribution and deadlines, emphasizing the production of 100 minutes of educational videos by each team. The videos, recorded in English, will support the flipped classroom model and be tested by teachers across partner countries. By May 1, each partner will recruit one teacher to pilot the platform and provide feedback, with a larger group of four teachers trained in each country by the end of September.

Content development, quality assurance, and dissemination were major focuses of the discussions. ISCTE shared resources on effective video creation, including the importance of clear scripting, concise presentation, and professional editing using tools like Movavi. EGE committed to adding subtitles to ensure accessibility, while also taking the lead in providing data collection tools and managing teacher feedback. Dissemination strategies were solidified, with partners agreeing to share updates through Instagram and LinkedIn accounts, as well as blogs on institutional websites. An Excel-based dissemination folder will track partner contributions, coordinated by EGE.

The meeting also set the stage for upcoming milestones, including a hybrid conference in İzmir in September 2024, where the project’s outcomes will be showcased. Teachers trained through the project will prepare monthly lesson plans, totaling six, to integrate flipped classroom techniques into real classrooms. Classroom observations, video demonstrations, and teacher feedback will enrich the project’s implementation. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and professional development, the FLIPP Project aims to transform traditional teaching methods and foster cooperative learning practices across partner countries.
