Fourth Meeting in Lisbon
On the first day of the Portugal meeting, the focus was on teacher engagement, lesson plan completion, and preparations for the upcoming international conference. Partners set a goal of enrolling 50 teachers in the Digital Learning Platform (DLP) by the end of May, with each country tasked to add 10 more teachers by the end of July. Teachers will also be encouraged to implement flipped lesson plans and actively use the DLP discussion board. All lesson plans are to be finalized by the end of May, with four sample lesson plans from each country uploaded to the platform. Plans for the international conference, scheduled for 11 September 2024, were also outlined, emphasizing thematic organization to avoid overlapping sessions. Presentation topics will include pre-class, in-class, and post-class phases, as well as family and student perspectives. A total of 20 presentations, including 10 online ones, will be delivered, with classroom observation forms from each country contributing valuable insights. The meeting also highlighted the importance of planning for the final project report, which will be addressed during the Izmir meeting to ensure all outcomes and findings are thoroughly documented. These steps are crucial for the project’s impact and sustainability.
he second day of the Portugal meeting focused on the presentation and development of tools to support the project. During the morning session, partners presented tools designed for schools, families, and students, including the School Introducing Tools, Family Guide Program, and Peer Guide/Support Program Tools. These tools aim to enhance flipped learning implementation and student engagement across different contexts. The session also covered examples from school implementations, showcasing 24 tools per country for a total of 120 tools.
In the afternoon, classroom observation and feedback practices were highlighted. Partners shared insights from four classroom observations per country, totaling 20 observations, and discussed how these observations can inform flipped learning practices. The focus remained on improving teaching methods and adapting to the diverse needs of learners.
The meeting concluded with the EU Teacher Network session, emphasizing the enrollment of 50 teachers in the Digital Learning Platform (DLP) and sharing flipped learning implementations through the network. This effort ensures broader participation and collaboration among educators, fostering the sustainability of the project.
The final session focused on preparations for the International Conference on Flipped Learning, scheduled for 11 September 2024 in Izmir, Turkey. Partners discussed the structure of the conference, which will include presentations by 30 project partners, findings from quantitative and qualitative research, and invited scholars to share insights on flipped learning. This conference marks a significant milestone in showcasing the project’s impact and promoting innovative teaching methods globally.
